Me
I am 12 years old and this is my third year being a member of 4h. I have been around cows my whole life, but this is the third year that I get to take a market steer to fair and I am so excited! I love to spend my time with animals and producing the best product that I can. Currently I have Thor (my steer), but I am working hard to save all of my money so that I can buy a heifer or two and start breeding my own! I am a very hard worker and I try my best to learn how to take care of animals the best I can.
Thor
Thor is a Simmental/Murray Grey and he was born on February 06, 2022. I have been working with him since last summer and we get along really well. I have taken Thor to multiple jackpots and I even took him to Utah for the Simmental Regionals where he won Grand Champion Steer. We have learned a lot from traveling to shows and we are going to use that knowledge to do even better at fair! Although Thor is huge, he is a big teddy bear and gets treated like one! I rinse him multiple times a day to keep him cool and comfortable, wash him and blow him out several times a week to make sure his skin and hair stay nice. I take him on long walks in the morning and night (most of the time) and make sure that he gets really good quality grains and hay. It has been a lot of work, but he is going to produce an incredible product that I am very proud of.
